we made a short comic called "Grace Period"
appearing in Metal Hurlant n°18 as "Période de grâce"
“Grace Period” was produced for Metal Hurlant with the theme of the issue being Human 2.0. The story takes place in the near future when an implant gives the recently deceased an extra few hours of life to resolve their affairs and say goodbye to the world. A couple killed in a car crash end up fighting over what to do with their grace period. They try to reconcile before time runs out.
It appears in this anthology in French.
Art by Simon Leclerc, written by me.
Translation by Claudia Picard-Deland with help from Marie-Pier Lafleur and Antoine Dussault.
Our previous short comic is available in English in this volume .
Other news:
I had the pleasure of writing descriptions of Visible Cloak’s upcoming album.
“Paradessence, Visible Cloak’s third full length, is an album of tension and reassurance. Its thirteen songs shift, heave, and shimmer against a faintly luminous backdrop of night, a cavern-like space shaped by sparse hyperreal representations of the natural world. The arrangements are simultaneously grandiose and fragile. As adventurous as anything they’ve produced so far, Paradessence is both an inversion and culmination of what came before.”
Check the full album when it comes out on May 22!
